Sinningia Hybrid (SINX01)
This is a fast growing vining member of the Gesneriaceae family related to African Violets and Streptocarpus. -Sinningia are native to South America and enjoy a wet dry cycle with shorter dry periods. They can go dormant in cooler drier months in which case you can cut back to the first node above the caudex (the thickened, rounded portion of the stem just above or below the soil’s surface) and keep in cool dry conditions until spring when it’s warmer and you can slowly start watering again. They like bright light but not too much direct sun. I grow mine under LED grow lights.-This is a new hybrid between two of my personal plants. It displays rounded, spade shaped leaves with extra fuzzy undersides. Flowers should turn out orange to red, a spotted to striped pattern, and COULD have reduced petal size while gaining a hood-like petal at the top of the flower.-Plants are growing in 2.7in pots.
